Cost:  $10 per section -- $20 for both sections -- Seniors only

Fall

  • Algebra 2 & English 3​ classes

    • November 17th week in class
  • Senior Math Prep Classes
    • December 8th week in class​

Spring

  • Seniors

All Senior Students Must:

  1. Pay exam fee by 3:00 pm Friday, 2/13/26

    • Students who need to pay the exam fee will receive an email

    • RevTrak payment link will be sent if payment is required

  2. Complete the Pre-Assessment Activity before noon on Tuesday, 2/17/26

  3. Download the Safe Exam Browser (in Self Service) on iPad before 2/17/26

  4. Bring charged iPad to exam room by 8:20 on exam day

Students who do not have the 4 items complete before due dates will not be allowed into the exam room to test, no exceptions.

 

Please note: There are no make up dates available & students are not permitted in the testing room after 8:20 am

TSI Exam FAQ

What is the Pre-Assessment Activity (PAA) and why do you have to complete it before taking the TSI?

Beginning August 26, 2013 all students must complete a Pre-Assessment Activity (PAA) that addresses the following components prior to taking the new TSI Assessment

  1. Importance of assessment

  2. Assessment process and components (including sample questions)

  3. Developmental Education Options

  4. Institutional and Community Resources

At the end, you will be asked to complete a form verifying that you have completed the PAA.  Print out the confirmation page and take it to the Testing, 

What is the TSI?

The Texas Success Initiative Assessment (TSIA2) is a program designed to determine if a student is ready for college-level course work in the general areas of English Language Arts and Reading (ELAR) and Mathematics.

Where can I take the TSI?

Several colleges and universities offer opportunities to take the exam. Students need to contact the college or university to register.

Marcus HS will offer the exam once a year to seniors.  Typically the exam is offered in February and registration must be complete mid January,  More information to come.

When can I access my scores?

Students will receive an email immediately after completing the exam.

Students can also request a printed copy from testing coordinator, Teri Burgin or counselor, Neena Johnson.

Can I retake the TSI?

Yes. Students can retake all or portions of the exam.

How long does the exam take?

The TSI assessment is not a timed test. The average time to complete all three sections of the test is three to five hours.
